thoughts from onething

I just returned home from the 2006 onething conference in Kansas City. It was incredibly refreshing on a personal level. The last few months had been very difficult for me personally; more marked by questions and confusion than clarity and purpose of direction. it was good for my heart to have focused time with the Lord and time to rest. It was also so good to see so many friends and reconnect with many, even though it was often a 10 second converstation as we passed one another.

some favorite highlights from the conference:

  • Running sound for Matt Gilman in the prayer room.... I love this team!
  • I mostly sat upstairs right behind the back stage area, so watching Shawn Blanc and so many others run around backstage for 16 hours a day... and still have a smile on his face at the end.
  • Watching Gary and Marie Wiens usher each night on the floor of the auditorium. I love being a part of a house (even remotely this season), that everyone serves at. It touches my heart to see people who teach and lead take the low place.
  • Watching hundreds of staff
  • Running sound for Shawn's last prayer room set for merchant band. For that matter... running sound for a mostly full prayer room that seats 1200... I love seeing these hungry ones.
  • Starting 2007 with 10 hours of prayer and fasting with 10,000 who love God (and who knows how many others around the world).

These last 5 days in KC have been great for my heart.... can't wait until I can move back home in a couple months.
